AMONG THE MOST ANCIENT REALITIES IN THE HEART OF THE CHIANTI CLASSICO
RICUDDA, ORGANIC COMPANY PRODUCING WINE AND OIL SINCE 1300 AD.

-Ricudda has almost unique agronomic characteristics in the Chianti Classico area_

(Vineyards facing south, altitude 350 m a.s.l., medium-textured soils rich in skeleton and marl sands, manual harvest, aging in Tuscan oak barrels that refer to the typicality of the Chianti area, totally organic winemaking and oenological processes)

THE BRAND
The Ricudda Farm takes its name from the French Coude / Couder / Recoude, which has the meaning of “elbow, bend”. The name of the farm can therefore be traced back to the "elbow" conformation of the farm land.

HISTORY
The Fattoria has been producing wine since the 15th century and is one of the oldest farms in the Chianti area. It is located in the municipality of Castellina in Chianti about halfway between Florence and Siena, at an altitude of about 360 m a.s.l. The farm and its grounds boast almost 800 years of history. The Squarcialupi family, the most powerful family in the history of Chianti, also ranks among the owners of the land.

AGRONOMIC CHARACTERISTICS
Our Chianti Classico derives from Sangiovese grapes vinified in purity.
The orientation of the vineyards to the South allows for perfect exposure to sunlight, while the composition of the soil favors its spontaneous development and enhances its aromatic and structural characteristics. The not very fertile soils of medium texture have a composition rich in skeleton and marl sands that make Ricudda the perfect combination for the growth of Sangiovese grapes.

AGRONOMIC AND ENOLOGICAL PROCESSES
The harvest is carried out only manually, while the temperature-controlled vinification and in particular the aging in Tuscan oak barrels for 12 months enhance its softness by polymerization of the polyphenols. The refinement in the bottle for at least 3 months before being admitted to consumption finally completes the process. Ricudda aims at the right combination of quality, innovation and refinement, following the best winemaking techniques with passion and attention to detail. Our processes are totally organic from the spontaneous development of the vineyards that are treated without the application of fertilizers to the oenological treatments in the cellar where synthetic products and clarifications applied with products of animal origin are totally absent.

THE LOGO
Ricudda's logo represents the initial of the name itself intertwined with a Rose in full bloom. In ancient times, the rose was planted at the beginning of the row not only for purpose
ornamental but also with the aim of monitoring the development and health of the vines. spy plant

WHY BIO
The product that boasts the “organic” brand is eco-sustainable and meets the needs of the consumer who is attentive to the quality and naturalness of the production process. We apply agronomic practices that limit the environmental impact and promote the conservation of soil fertility and balanced plant development. The phytosanitary and fertilization practices used in the biological process make it possible to safeguard the health of the plant, the absence of toxic residues in the wine and the health of the surrounding environment. In the oenological field there is also a ban on treating wines with synthetic products and stricter limits are in force for the sulphite content, with the tendency to reach a more natural winemaking process, such as the practice of spontaneous fermentation and the use of clarifiers of vegetable origin, to eliminate the problem of allergens in wine.
