The 2012 Brunello di Montalcino offers a classic interpretation of Sangiovese. The wine displays a dark crimson color with subtle ruby highlights. Dried berry, tobacco, pressed flower and pencil shavings are some of the principal components of the bouquet. You feel a pinch of tannic firmness and fresh acidity on the close. Villa le Prata makes 12,500 of this attractive base Brunello.ecanter 95 point.

Dense and smooth but tightly wound, with a lightly minty quality to the reticent red currant and savory herb flavors. Nicely delineated, refined Brunello with an austere, elegant mouthfeel that is less fruity but more refined than other 2012 Brunellos. Finished with outstanding length, youthfully dusty tannins and noteworthy deph. I’d cellar this for another three-four years before pulling the cork on it. Drink 2021-2030
