Chianti DOCG 2017


Ruby red colored with garnet nuances, its aroma opens on ripe red fruit tones with a hint of ripe black cherry and cloves and a background of ancient rose. Enveloping taste and good softness, supported by good freshness and well balanced tannins. Good persistence on the fruitiness.
Enjoy it matched with Chianina ragu Pici, grilled meat or “All’aretina” tripe.
Wine variety: Sangiovese, Merlot
Vineyard: “Quercione” vineyard, 250/300 meters above sea level, east-west exposure. Drained, chalky/ marly terrain. Growing system with barbed wire.
Yield per hectare: 70 quintals
Grape harvest: By hand, in crates.
Period: last September, first days of October
Wine-making: Separated by grape vineyard, it takes place in small and medium cement containers for 15 - 18 days, with daily air replacements. Then, we transfer the wine into wooden basins where the malolactic fermentation occurs.
Refining: 18 months in barrels of 15 / 20hl. The bottle aging lasts at least 6 months.
