The first wine bottled by the Torraccia di Presura winery. It was born in 1990, the concrete result of many dreams and expectations and a great job; from this idea came the name “Il Tarocco”, inspired by the ancient playing cards used for the divination of the future and luck and always linked to wine.
The multitude of images present in the tarot cards, with their deep and arcane meanings, including human, animal and mythological figures were the inspiration to create this label where the two-faced image of the cellar is portrayed under a sky illuminated by the sun and the moon, symbols of the passage of time and the influence of these generative forces on the vegetative cycle of the vine.
Grapes: Sangiovese
Vinification: in the Torraccia vineyards, Sangiovese usually reaches its perfect ripeness during the second or third decade of September. After harvesting, the Sangiovese grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, at 28-30 ° C. Contact with the skins continues for about 20-22 days depending on the vintage.
Characteristics: intense ruby red color, elegant aroma of a beautiful ripe red fruit with notes of spice and vanilla, full flavor, well structured and harmonized, balanced, intense and persistent.
It retains its best characteristics for 15-22 years.
Serving temperature: 18 ° C.
Pairings: red meats, roasts, braised meats, game, aged cheeses and in general dishes rich in flavor and substance, including international cuisine.
