Podere San Cristoforo is a small estate in the Maremma, a wild land lying between the Tyrrhenian sea and the gentle coastal hills of Tuscany. Maremma is an emerging area producing today some of the best wines in Italy.
We follow the biodynamic approach and we believe in low yields, little use of technology and a great deal of manual labour. We focus mainly on the soil, remaining sensitive to its characteristics and its symbiotic relationship with the vines, although we find that all the elements that characterise our terroir are important.
We are fine wine artisans producing just a few bottles that reflect our special natural environment.
"Podere San Cristoforo is one of the most exciting things to happen to Maremma wine in the last five years or so. Lorenzo Zonin has kept his day job at the family business in the Veneto but moonlights, as a boutique winemaker in this wild and untamed corner of southern Tuscany, he has created this success story. His driving force is pure and unyielding passion for wine and a desire to carve his own small niche.” (The Wine Advocate Robert Parker)
