Podere Castellaccia, a 50 hectares estate, is located on the top of a hill in the area between Grosseto and Montiano, 15 kilometers from the coast of the Tuscan Maremma, and it has been owned and managed by the Pellegrini Family since 1936. The optimal location and the unique micro-climate of the vineyards and the olive groves allow to have high quality products. Excellent wines are produced thanks to the low grapes production per hectare and thanks to the great care paid during the entire production process. The grape varieties grown in the vineyards are all typical and native grape varieties of this area (Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Ciliegiolo) and able to best express the enormous oenological potential of Tuscan Maremma.
The flagship product of Podere Castellaccia is the Morellino di Scansano DOCG in the traditional type (Vitazzaie, Abos, Etrurio) and the Reserve Castellaccia. We also produce the white IGT Toscana Fonda del Grigio and the Rosé IGT Toscana Poggio Bistone, vinified in white wine from the same grapes as the Morellino di Scansano production. Extra virgin olive oil. Apartments in agriturismo.
